Dean for Academic Affairs Jennifer Scanlon’s latest book Until There is Justice: The Life of Anna Arnold Hedgeman (Oxford University Press, January 2016) is the first biography of the African-American civil rights leader who helped organize the 1963 march on Washington, D.C.,  during which Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech.

A demanding feminist, devout Christian, and savvy grassroots civil rights organizer, Anna Arnold Hedgeman played a key role in more than half a century of social justice initiatives. Read more.
