Bowdoin’s Michael Danahy has been appointed the next Chemistry Olympiad Mentor for the U.S. National team, composed of the country’s top high school students in chemistry. Danahy, who won Bowdoin’s 2012 Karofsky Prize for distinction in teaching, will serve a three-year term in his new role, which includes advising 20 student finalists during a two- to three-week camp each summer at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., and selecting a four-person team to compete in the annual International Chemistry Olympiad.
